Situated five miles or so from where the very first Clydesdale horse was born, Scottish Equi Complex is a place devoted to everything equestrian. Scottish Equi is based on the old race course at Lanark, believed to be one of the oldest in the UK, and certainly able to prove its horse racing days as far back as 1165 when King William the Lion frequently stayed at Lanark Castle and watched the horse racing on the Moor. Today the course is no longer used, but visitors can ride quietly on its turf, and sense the thunder of hooves behind them! |
