HACKING - The beautiful AYRSHIRE COUNTRYSIDE has endless leisure riding opportunities. We can offer TREKS and HACKS ranging from 1 hour to 2 1/2 hours rides.
Firstly the Centre has a purpose built mile long all weather track adjacent to the Centre. This provides the perfect opportunity for shorter hacks and for safe 'off-road' riding for the beginning rider.
Two very popular tracks are ROZELLE PARK and the 'OLD RAILWAY'. These two hacking areas are purpose built and well maintained. Our most exhilarating ride is undoubtedly a 'hack to the beach' - this is a must for anyone visiting the area. AYR offers 5 miles of open flat sandy beaches, where horse and rider can each experience the ultimate riding experience.

Barbarafield Riding School is open all year round during daylight hours. We have over 300 acres of open farmland available for use along with old tracks and right of ways. Lessons are available from March to October/November. Particularly popular with children are half hour lessons followed by half hour hacks. Children (from the age of 5) often start with a half hour instructional hack before moving on to hourly sessions.

ABRS approved riding school and livery yard. Rosie has been involved with horses for 43 years and is absolutely passionate about their mental health as well as their physical well being. She was head girl of a private yard which catered for show jumping and young horses. At this time she had a very successful jumper called "Jaimie" and won a lot of good classes with him. She has had a varied experience with horses over the years but has always dreamed of her own yard, to enable her to teach the way she feels is best for the horses.

Equestrian Event Centre & Holiday Accommodation

Located in the south west of Scotland, provides superb accommodation for horses, riding lessons, bed and breakfast, part or full livery, point shows and competition, and a full range of facilities including arena hire. Riding lessons at Daleside are aimed at being fun, yet informative.
Instructors Terry and Tanya will teach you to ride properly, look after your pony and give you the chance to play games (including adults!).
The classes are small at Daleside, about 4 in a class. You will be taught as an individual and to your ability, even if you are in a mixed class.
Periodically you will be given leaflets to help you understand how to do things and understand the horsy talk that you hear when having a lesson.
Questions are welcome and will be answered fully.

We are based in West Lothian, on the outskirts of East Whitburn. We are surrounded by Woodlands Trust land which provides lovely, safe off-road hacking and an abundance of wildlife. (We regularly have foxes playing with their cubs in our all-weather arena at night when the floodlights are on!)
There is easy access to us straight off junction 4 on the M8, which makes us easily accessible from both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

We run a friendly, relaxed yard where all the horses are treated like a member of the family and enjoy daily turnout in small groups with their friends. The American barn stable block provides 5 star accommodation and excellent 'room service' with en-suite washroom facilities!
